Get involved! You are critical to the success of our club!

Our club runs on the efforts of our volunteer board members, coaches and parents and we need your help. There are so many ways in which you can get involved and help out, ensuring that our club can continue to operate and have fun at the same time, and many volunteer groups have roles that will fit your busy schedule.

Below are just some of roles that need to be filled. We do require all members to sign up for at least one volunteer group per skater group per season to help us out and to share the work among all of our members so practices can be fun and run smoothly.

  • Getting mats ready before practice, pushing mats onto the ice, taking mats off at the end of practice.
  • Filling water buckets during 2nd and 3rd hour practices (H2O engineers).
  • Being our rinkside designated person during practices

Seasonal volunteer support:

  • Assisting with equipment needs as required.
  • Volunteering for camps, registrations, etc.
  • Helping to post appropriate content on our social media sites

Skate Sharpening:

If your skater is in the Learn to Train group or higher, we will be asking you to sharpen your skater’s skates between practices. If you would like to learn how to sharpen skates, please attend one of the skate sharpening sessions we will be providing during practices this season, or visit our how-to video series on the Equipment page.

Board Meetings

Board meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month in the Schmaltz room at Kitchener City Hall. All members are welcome to come and attend these meetings. Check our Schedule page for dates and times.

If you are interested in learning one of these roles, please email for more information.

In addition to Officials, there are many roles that need to be filled by club volunteers for meets hosted by our club. Our club is hosting 2 regular meets this year in October and January, and we need all of our club members to pitch in.

Sign up boards are in the rink at every practice by the table, posted on the wall. Be sure to sign up, or alternatively you can email for more information.
